The Tamil Nadu government just this year introduced the Dr.Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit Scheme. This maternity program aims to help around 8 lakh pregnant and lactating women each year. Expectant moms who are enrolled with PICME and have financial needs can receive benefits under the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme, which also gives them access to quality healthcare during pregnancy. The Tamil Nadu government offers pregnant women up to Rs. 18,000 in cash aid under the program. The first amount of Rs. 4,000 would be given to each expectant mother. During the seventh month of pregnancy, this provides all necessary health care. The second amount of Rs. 4,000 would be given to the mother following the birth. Mothers who give birth at government or local body institutions are eligible for this. After the kid has received the third dosage of the DPT, hepatitis, and polio vaccines, the mother will receive the third installment, which is Rs. 4000.

The primary objective of Dr.Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit Scheme is to provide maternity care to the women in Tamil Nadu who are expecting to give birth to a child. The government will provide the mother five installments of Rs. 14,000 in addition to the kit. One kilogram of prenatal health mix, three T. albendazole, one kilogram of dates, 500 grams of protein biscuits, 500 grams of Aavin ghee, three T. albendazole, a plastic basket, and a towel are among the twelve essentials included in the Rs. 4,000 Amma Nutrition Kit.  All these benefits will be given to the expecting women in Tamil Nadu to have a safe and secure pregnancy and child delivery.

The initial step is to visit the official PICME Tamil Nadu website.

  • When you initially enter the portal, select the “Application ID Status” option at the top of the screen.
  • A new page requesting your PICME number or registration ID will show up when you re-register. Enter each detail carefully.
