About Swachh Bharat Mission
To encourage the citizens of India towards greenery and cleanliness the Government of India has introduced the Swachh Bharat Mission. The Swachh Bharat mission is a centrally sponsored initiative to start a sanitary revolution in India, especially in rural areas. The initiative was started by the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi back in 2014 to make India Open Defecation Free (ODF). Since October 2014 the central government of India has built a total of 11 crore toilets in India across different villages. 3 million government employees, 12 crore schools, 6.25 lakh volunteers, and numerous celebrities participated in the Swachh Bharat mission.

Objective of About Swachh Bharat Mission
The main objective of launching the swachh Bharat mission is to increase cleanliness in India. With the help of this initiative, the Government of India will significantly reduce open defecation and improve the management of solid wastes. The government has built various home-owned and society-owned toilets under the swachh Bharat mission. The swachh Bharat mission will overall enhance the waste management and sanitation process. In rural areas, the central government of India is providing financial assistance of INR 12000 for the building of toilets. In 2019 the Government of India built a total of 2.23 lakh community sanitary complexes (CSCs).
