This scheme was introduced by the president of the Aam Aadmi Party Mr Arvind Kejriwal to uplift the financial stability of priests and Granthis. The registration process of the scheme was started on 31st December 2024 in Delhi. To provide financial stability to the priests and Granthis of Delhi, the Delhi government has announced the launch of Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana. Mr Arvind Kejriwal visited a temple near Kashmiri gate in Delhi to start the registration process of the scheme on the other hand the Chief Minister Atishi visited a Gurudwara to start the registration for Granthis.
