Eligibility Criteria

  • Families in EWS, LIG, or MIG categories living in urban areas without a pucca house anywhere in the country can apply.
  • Beneficiaries must not have received housing benefits from central, state, or local government schemes in the last 20 years.
  • EWS households have an annual income of up to Rs. 3 lakh; LIG income is Rs. 3-6 lakh; MIG income is Rs. 6-9 lakh. States/UTs may adjust these criteria with approval.
  • Priority is given to widows, single women, disabled persons, senior citizens, transgenders, minorities, and vulnerable groups like Safai Karmis and street vendors.
  • Beneficiaries with parents who previously received housing benefits will be considered after other eligible families.
  • Houses excluded under PMAY-U by December 31, 2023, will not be sanctioned in PMAY-U 2.0.
  • Beneficiaries can choose benefits under PMAY-G or PMAY-U 2.0, but duplication will be avoided.
  • Aadhaar or Aadhaar Virtual ID is mandatory for all eligible beneficiaries and their family members.

Financial Benefits
