The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS). Both traditional training and non-traditional training will be given to the artisans to allow them to enhance they are overall skills. Scheme Covered Under PM Vikas
USTTAD and Hamari Dharohar
This component covers the training in need-based courses for minority artisan communities and their family members who are engaged in traditional arts and crafts including languishing art forms. The objective of this component is to allow the artisans to connect with the world and start their self-employment journey. With the help of this, the authorities aim to benefit a total of 1 lakh minority artisans’ communities across the country
Seekho aur Kamao
Under this scheme, the Government of India will provide skill development training to artisans and minority community citizens. This will allow the young citizens to belong to the minority communities to get a job as an artisan and become financially independent. According to the information, this initiative aims to benefit 5 lakh young citizens.
Nai Roshni
This scheme seeks to provide Leadership qualities and entrepreneurship training to the young citizens who belong to the minority artisans community with focus modules. This component aims to cover 2 lakh women for the 60-hour leadership training, out of which 1 lakh shall undergo a 100-hour entrepreneurship training.
Nai Manzil
To provide education to all the dropouts who belong to the artisans or minority community the Government of India started an initiative called Nai Manzil. The Eligible citizens can pursue classes 8th, 10th, and 12th and provide their certification through the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) or any other institution(s) approved by MoMA.
