What is Ladki Bahin Yojana?
The Deputy chief minister of Maharashtra state Mr Eknath Shinde announced the launch of the scheme to help the female citizens of Maharashtra state who belong to economically weak families. All the female citizens of Maharashtra state who are selected under the scheme are considered as “sisters” by the authorities. Under the scheme, the Maharashtra state government will provide monetary incentives of up to INR 1500 to all the selected female citizens monthly. So far, the scheme has reached 2.5 crore women, and over 2.35 crore beneficiaries received the allowance last month.

The main objective of launching the Ladki Bahin Yojana is to uplift the lives of all the female citizens of Maharashtra state who are not financially independent.
