The Karnataka state government has launched the Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme. To provide rice worth 5 kg and financial assistance of INR 170 for the same amount of rice to all the selected citizens of Karnataka state the Karnataka state government has launched the Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme. Recently the food minister of Karnataka state Mr KH Muniyappa announced that the state government will provide an additional 5 kg of rice instead of the financial assistance (Rs 170) under the scheme. As per the information the beneficiaries will receive a total of 10 kgs of rice from the state government.
What is Anna Bhagya Scheme?
The Anna Bhagya Scheme was first introduced by the Congress Party before the election in Karnataka state in their election manifesto. After coming into power in Karnataka state the Congress party launched the Anna Bhagya Scheme on 9th July 2023. Chief Minister of Karnataka state Mr Siddaramaiah launched the scheme and promised to provide 5 kg of rice as well as financial help of INR 170 for an additional 5 kg of rice. All the citizens who are the permanent resident of Karnataka state and belong to the blow poverty line category are eligible to avail the benefits of the Anna Bhagya Scheme.

Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme New Update
The new update under the Karnataka Anna Bhagya Scheme was announced by the food minister of the state Mr KH Muniyappa on Wednesday, 19th February. Under the new update, the Karnataka state government has announced that the authorities have decided to hold the financial assistance of INR 170 instead they will provide an additional 5 kg of rice to all the beneficiaries. Now the beneficiaries will receive a total of 10 kgs worth of rice under the scheme. The announcement was made after the central government of India approved the Karnataka state government to use the excessive rise available at the Food Corporation of India.
