Recently during the announcement of the state budget, the Tamil Nadu state government has announced to include 1 lakh new houses under the Kalaignar Kanavu illam. During the announcement, the finance minister of Tamil Nadu state also announced that the authorities have set up a total budget of INR 35000 crore under the Kalaignar Kanavu illam scheme. All the citizens of Tamil Nadu State who are not able to apply for the scheme can now reapply and avail of the benefits. This scheme will provide affordable houses to all those citizens who are financially weak and cannot afford a permanent house.
