BJP Approved Ayushman Bharat in Delhi
During the first Cabinet meeting of the newly formed BJP government in Delhi, the new chief minister Mrs Rekha Gupta announced the approval of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the national capital. The new chief minister of Delhi herself announced that the Delhi government has approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme for all the eligible citizens of Delhi. The scheme provides INR 5 lakh to all the selected beneficiaries for Healthcare services on top of that the Delhi government has announced that they will provide an extra INR 5 lakh to all the selected citizens under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Objective of Ayushman Bharat
The main objective of launching the Ayushman Bharat scheme is to make healthcare services easy and affordable for all citizens who belong to financially unstable families. With the help of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the beneficiaries can access medical services at empaneled hospitals without having to pay upfront, which helps reduce financial burden during critical medical situations. Since the launch of the Ayushman Bharat scheme back in 2018 the scheme has helped a total of 50 crore citizens of India providing affordable and free Healthcare.

Ayushman Card Eligibility for Rural Area
- The citizen’s house must consist of only one room with kucha walls and a roof.
- The selected citizens’ family must not consist of any adult male member between 16 to 59 years.
- The selected citizens’ family must not consist of a disabled member and no able-bodied adult member.
- The citizens who belong to the SC or ST category or eligible.
- The households where a major chunk of income from manual casual labor are eligible.

Ayushman Card Eligibility for Senior Citizens
- Senior citizens who are above the age of 70 years will receive an additional benefit of INR 5 lakh worth of healthcare services.
- The Delhi government has not put any kind of income criteria to make sure every senior citizen regardless of the socio-economic condition will receive the benefit.
- Senior citizens covered under other government insurance schemes must use between Ayushman Bharat scheme or another.
Ineligibility Criteria (Exclusions)
- The citizens who own a two or four-wheeler or a motorized deficient board are not eligible.
- If the citizens own mechanism farming equipment they are not eligible.
- Citizens having Kisan cards with a credit limit of INR 50,000 are not eligible.
- Government employees.
- Citizens working in government-managed non-agricultural enterprises.
- The beneficiaries who earn more than INR 10,000 per month or not available.
- Citizens own refrigerators and landlines.
- If the citizens have a solid and permanent house they are not eligible.
- Citizens own 5 acres or more of agricultural land.
