About Peer-to-Peer Solar Energy Transaction Scheme

Using a digital platform, the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Solar Energy Transaction Scheme allows โ€œprosumers,โ€ or those with excess solar energy, to exchange excess power with other customers. Participants are able to post excess energy for sale, and purchasers can acquire it at set pricing. It is the local utility that purchases unsold energy. This program ensures effective energy use in real-time, encourages the use of renewable energy, and provides financial incentives to solar producers. The program is a great step towards the sustainability and energy reuse. The citizens can also earn some money by providing the surplus energy to others.

Objective of Scheme

By enabling rooftop solar users with excess energy to sell it directly to other customers, the Peer-to-Peer Solar Energy Transaction Scheme in Assam aims to establish an online marketplace. By enabling customers to trade solar power, this program seeks to maximize energy distribution, encourage the use of renewable energy, and give prosumers more revenue streams while promoting sustainable energy habits. Among other things, the procedure entails registering on the platform and offering surplus energy for sale to participants in the PM Surya Ghar initiative. Energy offers will be available for a day with price caps to ensure fairness and transparency. After searching the listings, consumers who wish to enroll can purchase the necessary energy.
