The Jammu and Kashmir Government has launched the Jammu and Kashmir Transport Subsidy Scheme 2025. To provide financial assistance to the bus owners of Jammu and Kashmir to allow them to purchase the latest and low-emission vehicles, the authorities have launched the Jammu and Kashmir Transport Subsidy Scheme. The scheme will eliminate the use of the old and outdated public transport system of Jammu and Kashmir. The transport commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir Mr Vishesh Mahajan announce the launch of the scheme. All the citizens who want to avail the benefits of this scheme must visit the official website and fill out the application form online.
About Jammu and Kashmir Transport Subsidy Scheme
To increase the use of the latest public transport and also make a positive impact on the environment the Jammu and Kashmir authorities have started receiving applications for the Transport Subsidy Scheme. With the help of this scheme, the government will provide financial assistance and subsidies to the bus owners to allow them to purchase new vehicles that are fuel efficient. According to the information, the financial assistance of INR 5 lakh or 18% subsidy of the total amount of the vehicle whichever is lower will be given to the selected bus owners for the purchase of a new bus.

Objective of Transport Subsidy Scheme
The main objective of launching the Jammu and Kashmir Transport Subsidy Scheme is to allow the bus owners of Jammu and Kashmir to purchase new vehicles without worrying about financial trouble. This scheme will also play a significant role in reducing the increasing problem of pollution in Jammu and Kashmir by encouraging citizens to purchase fuel-efficient vehicles. The financial assistance will only be given to those bus owners who will provide a valid scrapping certificate of their old vehicle from a valid scrapping site. The bus owners have to submit regular reports To the Regional Transport officer to ensure the buses are running on valid routes.

Eligibility Criteria
- The citizens must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir.
- The bus owners must have driving buses, minibusses, or matadors for more than 15 years.
- The bus owner must have a valid scrap document of their old vehicle.
Required Documents
- Application form to be submitted to RTO officer.
- Scrap certificate from a registered dealer.
- Chassis cut piece of old vehicle.
Selection Process
- The citizens must purchase the vehicles within 3 months after signing the loan agreement.
- The vehicles must not have any kind of outstanding dues such as token fees, passenger fees, or fitness fees.
- The vehicles must have a valid permit and an updated insurance certificate.
- The citizens cannot transfer the subsidized vehicle for a minimum of 5 years.
- The owner must condemn and scrap the vehicle only after deregistration, with proof from a registered scrap dealer.

STEP 1: All the citizens to clear the eligibility criteria are requested to visit the official website and fill out the application form online to available the benefits of the Jammu and Kashmir Transport Subsidy scheme.
